A Brief History of Grifonton, Page 12

PANEL 1

William pleads with the Gryphon for mercy.

WILLIAM: "Please forgive him. He loves his family dearly."

WILLIAM: "Surely you too once knew love?"

PANEL 2

Three sequential close-ups of the Gryphons face, showing her considering, then deciding.

GRYPHON: "..."

GRYPHON: "Ive decided!"

PANEL 3

The Gryphon announces her terms to the shocked brothers.

GRYPHON: "I want to start collecting something new. I think Ill begin with human males. Ill fight the Goths if one of you comes to live with me."

PANEL 4

William immediately volunteers.

WILLIAM: "Ill go."

THOMAS: "No! Youre so young! Your whole life is ahead of you! You shouldnt have to waste away with a monster!"

GRYPHON: "HEY! Price just went up! Hell have to read me bedtime stories!"

PANEL 5

Thomas and William argue while the Gryphon looks annoyed.

WILLIAM: "Thomas, what would your wife say?"

THOMAS: "She would die of grief knowing that you were the slave of a revolting beast!"

GRYPHON: "And, he must dress like a girl!"

Everything that follows is original 2005 commentary except where noted “–RN 2012″:

I had to leave a few lines off at the end of the page. William says, “A beautiful revolting beast,” to which the Gryphon replies…

“That’s better.”
