Crow Princess, Page 3

PAGE 3

Panel 1

A park scene. A young girl with light hair in pigtails stands with her elderly grandmother (wearing glasses and a grey suit). They watch a woman with messy dark hair feeding crows. Multiple crows fly around carrying round objects.

JENNA: Wow... Gammy, look at that lady feeding those birds.

GAMMY: Isn't she beautiful, Jenna?

Panel 2

JENNA: There's a bird on her shoulder.

GAMMY: That's a crow.

Panel 3

Close-up of the dark-haired woman's face. She has a gentle, knowing smile. A crow perches near her.

JENNA: The crows must love her a lot.

The little girl in this scene’s name was originally Heart, and she was supposed to feature in the ongoing series that I had outlined. I shopped the series to a few publishers, but no nibbles.

I like that narrative convention. Serena Valentino also used it very well in Nightmares & Fairytales.
