AUTHORS NOTE
A note from the author...
I once knew a girl who fancied herself a "true goth." She was something of an elitist, and everything was a competition to her. She would chide her peers simply for not owning some token of "true gothness" like a corset or fancy boots.
It was always amusing and (I admit) somewhat gratifying to observe her at clubs when the older goths saw through her superficialities. For this reason I try to avoid labels and elitism, even thought I do write comics about them to illustrate how silly we can get over these things. But in the end, you make you, not the things you own or the names you call yourself.
