NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

A fancy script title reads "Note from the Author"

RACHEL (AUTHOR): "Hi! It's Rachel! I wanted Kelly Osbourne to appear in the following scene, but halfway through the completion of this comic, I learned of a nasty little Californian law that prohibits the use of a celebrity's likeness without her permission! I sent Kelly a letter all too late and still haven't heard back. Too bad!"

RACHEL: "So here's what I'm going to do. In the following scene (which should have featured Kelly Osbourne), a celebrity of your choosing will be portrayed by a Blanc. A Blanc is half-formed manga character, lacking in design and development (and any form of 'likeness'). They don't survive very long after coming into existence, but I'll sustain this one artificially just long enough for it to play the role of the celebrity of your choice. If the Blanc isn't enough for you, I recommend that you go to the nearest magazine stand, buy a copy of Rolling Stone, and cut out a picture of the celeb you want to see! Then, just tack it on over the Blanc! (Do me a favor and cut out pics of Trent Reznor.)"

At the bottom of the page, a 'Blanc' - a partially designed manga character with no distinct features - is shown holding scissors.

BLANC: "Now, if you excuse me, I have some cutting to do..."

Remember, this was originally a comic made for print, my self-published graphic novel 18 Revolutions. This was from a time when Kelly Osbourne seemed like a cool person.
