Unhappy Valentine’s Day, Page 1

COVER

Title page for "UnHappy Valentine's Day" by Rachel Nabors

The Anti-Cupid stands dramatically against a background of pink and magenta broken hearts. She has bright red hair styled in twin buns with small horns, black wings spread behind her, and wears a red and black gothic corset outfit with a short skirt and thigh-high stockings. She holds a broken pink heart in one hand and carries a quiver of arrows on her back.

I think this is one of the first pages I ever colored in Photoshop. The red outfit clashes with the pink hearts, but I still love it so hard. If I had to do this again, I would only change the stool and make the hearts look more like paper cut outs, maybe desaturate them a bit.

It still feels powerful. She’s got her back to the viewer and is looking over her shoulder slyly while snipping up one more heart. I could have drawn this today. Hmm. Maybe I need to work harder? Hahaha!

*Unhappy Valentine’s Day *first appeared on gURL.com. It was one of my first comics they accepted.
