A beautiful spring scene with flowers, bees, and a bird.

NARRATION: It is a lovely spring morn in Nowhere, Virginia.

NARRATION: The flowers bloom in an orgy of color and aroma.

Bees fly among large trumpet-shaped flowers.

NARRATION: Thrumming bees pollinate the fertile blossoms, spreading life upon the fecund earth.

A bird perches on a flowering branch.

NARRATION: The birds sing their lilting nuptial serenades.

NARRATION: And Rachel...

PAGE 1, PANEL 2

Rachel lies in bed looking exhausted, clutching a pillow.

NARRATION: ...has not slept at all.

RACHEL: I am so horny.

I put a lot of attention into the details on this first page. I do not think a simple robin has ever been so accurately portrayed in comic before.

As much as I enjoy drawing splashy pages like this, it’s a lot of effort for something that doesn’t advance the story a whole lot, which is probably why I scaled back on them later.
