PANEL 1

Rachel looks annoyed, dark clouds behind her.

RACHEL: "Christ, it's only worth $3 wholesale at most!"

PANEL 2

Sparrow holds up a Korn necklace pendant.

SPARROW: "And, what is THAT?"

PANEL 3

Rachel examines the pendant.

RACHEL: "An official Korn pendant made of genuine gun-metal and hung on a ball chain!"

PANEL 4

Sparrow holds up the necklace dramatically.

SPARROW: "Only $39.99! A must-have for any hard-core Korn fan!"

PANEL 5

Rachel, wearing a "FEAR CHANGE" shirt, responds sarcastically.

RACHEL: "'Hard-core'? Shit, a hard-core fan would have a group shot of the band tattooed across her labia."

PANEL 6

Close-up of the Korn pendant necklace.

RACHEL: "That trinket is not hard-core!"

This is actually based on a true story. I was fifteen and was hanging out with another fifteen-year-old girl (which was a really rare circumstance for me, being home-schooled in the middle of Nowhere). She was crazy about Korn and was showing off her Korn necklace. I couldn’t believe she’s spent so much on it. “But it’s real gunmetal!”

To say the least, I was not impressed.

I understand bands have to make a living, though. What I didn’t understand was how someone could spend so much on something so small. Maybe she financially better off?
