Love Can Wait, Page 3

PAGE 3, PANEL 1

The young woman with dark hair explains why she wants love while the Anti-Cupid listens.

WOMAN: "Well, I want to be in love and kiss and get married and all those things..."

ANTI-CUPID: "Sure, but you have your whole life to do that. You're still fifteen. What's the hurry?"

WOMAN: "How'd you know my age?"

ANTI-CUPID: "I know everything, just like Santa Claus."

ANTI-CUPID: "Plus I checked your MySpace before I came over here."

PAGE 3, PANEL 2

The Anti-Cupid challenges the woman's priorities.

ANTI-CUPID: "You really want to be tied to your soul mate in high school?"

WOMAN: "Well..."

PAGE 3, PANEL 3

The Anti-Cupid makes her case with illustrations of travel, books, and brain development.

ANTI-CUPID: "I can think of lots of things I'd rather do with my youth than spend it with the same person I'm going to live with for seventy years."

Small illustrations show: travel (Eiffel Tower), reading books, joining clubs (United Kite Lovers), and a brain icon labeled "brains are men business"

ANTI-CUPID: "Plus the human brain keeps changing during the early twenties."

ANTI-CUPID: "Even if I could help you meet Mr. Right today, he might be Mr. Wrong tomorrow."

PAGE 3, PANEL 4

The Anti-Cupid offers advice while spreading her wings.

ANTI-CUPID: "You should use this time to grow and discover who you really are without obsessing over the L-word."

ANTI-CUPID: "After all, you have to be your own person before you can expect to find true love."

Growing up I used to meet a lot of girls who were all about “twoo wuv” and finding their soul mates and getting married. They never thought about college or getting out of that little town. Things rarely went smoothly. All I could do was watch as they got their hearts broken over and over again. I couldn’t understand why it was so important to them, but I think it was because they were unhappy with their lives and thought that “having a man would make it better.” No one can make your life better but you.

That is SO true Rachel! No one on this earth can make you happier other than you! But then again, it doesn’t hurt to have someone make you happy in life at some point…
