PANEL 1

Caption box: That morning, as soon as the noises fade...

Rachel positions speakers pointing upward at the ceiling.

RACHEL: "Better point the speakers up to keep from disturbing the people below!"

PANEL 2

Rachel sits by her stereo with the bass boost on, listening to opera. Musical notes fill the air.

RADIO: "You're listening to NPR's live broadcast of the ♭ Barber of Seville as performed at the ♪ Met!"

Hours upon hours of opera!

RACHEL: "Play it just loud enough..."

RACHEL: "...to keep them awake!"

RACHEL: "It's educational and vindictive!"

PANEL 3

Rachel stands triumphantly by her CD collection, wearing a "VOTE FOR RACHEL" shirt and fishnet stockings.

RACHEL: "And it's daytime, too, so they can't call the police like I do!"

RACHEL: "Let's see what I have for today's soundtrack."

RACHEL: "Project Pitchfork, loud German Industrial!"

RACHEL: "Nine Inch Nails, Andersmanga, Rammstein!"

*Her CD collection is labeled "Rachel's CDs - NO TOUCHING!"

Someone later commented that speakers don’t work that way, and that perhaps pointing them upwards was ineffectual.

That was a really good opera. I think I inked this comic while listening to it.
