Rachel sits alone, looking at papers, questioning herself.

RACHEL: "But now I wonder..."

RACHEL: "Do girls really only like my comics just because of the big eyes?"

RACHEL: "Would they even read them if I drew more realistically?"

BRENDA: "Are you okay?"

PANEL 2

Night scene - Tuna calls Rachel over to the computer.

TUNA: "Hey Rachel, take a look at this."

TUNA: "Listen to this gem just posted at that message board you've been haunting."

The cruel message board post is shown while Rachel curls up in despair.

"Great, just what the world needs, another pseudo-gothic poser comic. This should go over great with gothic lolita scene. Looks like you're nailing two fads with one hammer: goth and otaku. And what's with 'the Great'? Are you some kind of self-aggrandizing egotist?"

RACHEL: "Where the hell are people getting this stuff?"

See, that lady in the background is a nice person who cares. She couldn’t help that she couldn’t say everything just right.

It was around this time that my comic had drawn the attention of a notorious trol board. I don’t remember the name of the board, but I noticed I was getting a lot of traffic from them, so I checked it out. I was actually kinda cool with the bad things they were saying because at that time I needed all the extra pageviews I could get to keep me in a job at gURL.com. I

I should also mention that my awesome editor Heather Bradley lobbied to get me a raise–and I got it! She’s not with gURL.com anymore, but I just wanted to give her a shout out. That was really nice of her. I needed that cash for rent.
