Rachel walks through a twilight cityscape with glowing windows, looking contemplative.

RACHEL: "Sometimes I would go walking downtown in the gloaming."

RACHEL: "Something about the warm glow from a window makes me feel more alive."

RACHEL: "I'll probably remember those walks more than anything else."

I do remember my strange “midnight walks around Floyd” surprisingly well. I’m not sure why I like looking into people’s warm, lit windows. It reminds me of peeking inside dollhouses. Every time you glimpse a new world, a new moment in a life you have never known that has been running parallel to yours for years. And after that brief moment, you part a little warmer inside.
