RACHEL: "I'm okay, how about you?"

WOMAN: "I just got back from visiting the girls at college."

WOMAN: "Jenny and Amanda are doing so well!"

RACHEL: "Good to hear."

I did feel left behind when other girls were moving on and out with their lives. I was 22 and living with my mother. I didn’t feel embarrassed because I was working hard, self-publishing graphic novels and making comics, though. It was only at this point in my life that I could make enough making comics to support myself without the help of my mother, and that’s what you’re seeing dawn on me in this set of comics.

Fun fact: That woman is not wearing a bra.
