To Call or Not to Call, Page 2

PANEL 1

Tuna the orange cat sneaks up behind Rachel, who is lying on her bed.

TUNA: "What's that?"

PANEL 2

Rachel jumps in shock, startled by Tuna's sudden appearance.

RACHEL: "Ack!"

RACHEL: "W-why do you sneak up on me like that?"

TUNA: "Because it's fun! Watchoo doin'?"

PANEL 3

Rachel holds up the note with the phone number. The note reads "555-6916 Call me!" in large writing.

RACHEL: "I'm trying to work up the nerve to call him."

TUNA: "You mean that theatre monkey?"

TUNA: "Do you even know his name?"

PANEL 4

Close-up of Rachel looking dreamily at a rose behind her, blushing.

RACHEL: "I know he was really cute!"

TUNA: "And you rag on boys for being superficial, yeesh."

PANEL 5

Rachel looks embarrassed while Tuna continues his critique.

TUNA: "Come on, he dropped his number into your popcorn."

RACHEL: "I thought it was kind of a gutsy and romantic."

TUNA: "It would have been gutsy if he had asked for your number."

His name was Calvin. I have no idea why I chose it. It sounds too much like Clyde from Chemistry. Also, I think I used “theatre monkey” in reference to Clerks II. Tuna’s allowed to make slurs because he’s just a wittle harmless pussy cat… or that’s what he wants you to think!
